Are you doing one person as the DJ and MC or a separate DJ and separate MC? I feel like...what else does the MC do besides the intros in the beginning?

the MC does alot during the wedding- entrances, cake cutting, first dance, father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, bouquet toss/garter, announces to everyone to be at their tables to tell the waiters what their dinner choice is, etc... They are all little things, and I'm sure a one man dj/mc can do both, but the only difference is that you won't have an MC like on the dancefloor getting everybody up.. I feel like a separate MC gets the dancing/party mood up a little more. My sister had a one person dj/mc, and her wedding was beautiful and lots of fun.

I talked to a few DJs and it is totally up to you. But the one thing I learned that is making me lean towards two people is that the MC will be in charge of communicating with the venue for timing of cake cutting, dinner, etc. so instead of the venue communicating through you, they take care of it and it reduces the stress on your special day!

Originally we planned on just a DJ/MC combo, but FH convinced me that we needed a separate MC to keep the night running smoothly. I'm all for keeping things easy for the day of!

I had two separate people for DJ and MC at my sweet sixteen so I know i needed the same thing for my wedding. Not only do they do the important things as listed in previous posts they bring that party atmosphere. It kinda like having a hype man lol I personally cant see having one person do both unless you are doing more of a sit down thing and people wont be dancing much. But Im biased- I love to party and DJ/MC was one of the most important thing when I was choosing vendors.
