What are you all getting through your DJ?

Violinist for cocktail hour and/or ceremony?
Up lighting ??
White light up DJ booth.. Is anyone doing this?

DJ add ons.. - Long Island Weddings

We're getting ceremony, CH and reception music, one DJ, one MC, and uplighting.

we only added on the photobooth. we are not doing any uplighting, just basic lights. i generally find all of the bells and whistles DJs have tacky.

we are just having Phil from After Hours as our DJ/MC. I felt that having a separate MC would be too overwhelming.

we are getting a jazz band for cocktail hour and uplighting.. not a fan of the club light thing from DJs... we also got a photobooth, but through a different company

I'm just adding up lighting. I am not getting all the lights with the dj it's not my taste nor am I getting the white front board. The up lighting we will probably do in clear lighting for the beginning and then add a color towards the end of the night. I didn't want my room all one color the whole night. The photo booth is fun I'm just over it because the past 3 weddings we went to have had it.

they control the lights in the somerley room so we got the lighting package. then zap shots, montage, and a screen to show photos, also a percussionist as a surprise cocktail hour we are having the ceremony musicians play. it was only $100 to keep them an extra hour I think on top of what we were already paying them.

They are providing music for ch. I hired ceremony musicans seperate from them for ceremony. Getting te photobooth and basi lights. No white board or up lighting. It is included in my room at the venue

This. exactly. I MAY add the Zap Photos... My friend recently had them at her wedding with After Hours and it was awesome.

No official decisions made yet!

Music for ceremony and cocktail hr, Zap photos with plasmas, dj (no mc), name in lights, uplighting, photo booth, trellis with lights, snack truck....and they threw in the light up dj booth for free.

Our DJ is doing music for ceremony, CH, and reception. MC and DJ...we added the uplighting which included a light up front board for DJ booth, and we are doing the photobooth

Is CH music an add-on? I thought it was just included. I guess I should find out about that. Our DJ package includes:
- White DJ Booth (I wouldn't have paid extra for this, but it was included and I definitely love the look)
-Photo Montage during dinner
-Photobooth w/ props

We are doing uplights, a light up booth, plasma screens with zap photo & photo montage, photo booth w/props, scrapbook & attendant, percussionist... i'm going hard with the dj and photographer lol.

Yea usually it is an add-on. all of the DJ's I saw were from 8-12 which was only the 4 hours for the reception. I paid extra for a band to play during cocktail hour. Some DJ's may be different though, so maybe your DJ includes that hour in your package

our CH music was an add-on with our DJ, but they threw it in at no extra charge.

Not sure how I feel about live ch music. If its not there, does anyone really miss it??

I just went to a wedding where they had it and I thought it was an impressive add-on but honestly not worth the extra money if you're budgeting - which most of us are because LI weddings are so expensive lol.

After Hours (Phil) will be our MC and we're gonna have a separate DJ. No extra uplighting, as the Winter Garden Pavillion at Fox Hollow has some already included. We will do a extra percussionist during the reception, though, which I think is so fun. I like the idea of live music at the cocktail hour, but I definitely dont think its a necessity, so we're skipping it
