DJ / BAND

I dont know which one to choose....DJ, someone I know that makes good parties and is cheap....band i have one good on mind but the price is more than twice of dj cost. Another think is that I will have mix guests....i think it will be half and half looking at the age, but I would have abouit 15-25 people from my and my FH work, and the rest of the guests are polish, they dont even speak english...so i dont know which music type would be the best??? Any sugestions

it really depends on your preference and budget..on average bands cost a lot more..theres so many pros and cons to each..you should compare and then make a decision...good luck

Re: DJ / BAND

I was about to vote for band bc I LOVE bands...however in your situation, I may chose a dj because he can play some traditional Polish music or something your guests will know and like. Also, if your guests aren't into music and you don't think they'll care...why spend the exrta $$ on a band. I'd say dj.

Well a DJ is ALOT cheaper., and a DJ can always play a variety of music for your mix of guests, as well as a band but only if they can perform Polish music.

But I chose a band because I think live is great entertainment IMO..

YOu can always get percussionist to make your DJ 'live'. Either way you just need to find a band/dj to who can perform to fit ur needs.

we just booked Good Clean Fun tonight. They are a band and they can provide a dj as well so you can have the best of both worlds.
this situation was cheaper than any of the dj's we spoke to.

look around before deciding that bands are too expensive. don't think you have to get a 'wedding band' either.
Good Clean Fun is more of a 'pub band' at least in my opinion. Go to local bars and pubs and if you see a band you like talk to them. they are usually half the cost of the big wedding bands out there.

good luck!

Re: DJ / BAND

i don't think there is a 'right' answer there.
bands are awsome, dj's are awsome.
if the band can play both traditional and contemporary music and you can afford them maybe they are the better way to go. why?
b/c if you have guests who do not dance, they will still enjoy the live entertainment. most likely more than they would watching a dj.

BUT
a dj is great b/c they can play ANYTHING you want. if they dont have what you want, you can give them a cd to play. and they are usually cheaper.

a dj would not make your wedding any less fantastic. if money is an issue, do not hesitiate to book a dj you like. the price you mentioned is a great deal.
the band's price is also a very good deal.

Go with what YOU want, and what you can afford. Do not worry about your guests in this aspect. They will be happy no matter what choice you make.

Re: DJ / BAND

there are some places that offer both services a little bit of both. Maybe take a look at those first and then you can choose. Some girls are having percussion or sax with the Dj to give it something more. I got a DJ with a vocalist for the downtime. What ever you do good luck
