i think most djs are flexible......our deposit was only a couple hundred.....

our DJ asked for $500 down (our pkge is roughly $2500)--but i just gave a check for $1000 just for the helluva.
otherwise they won't ask for payments till closer to our wedding day!

We paid a $400 deposit for a $1900 package and the rest is due the day of the wedding.

yes, ours was super flexible, we paid $200 also...
FMIL wanted to pay $500 (at one point wanted to pay the whole thing) and they were like, oh, please don't....just 1 or 2 will be fine. he said that if he has the whole amt NOW he has to pay the 'crew' NOW for work they haven't done. or something like that.....never thought of that.
