DJ Help

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced DJ? We're looking for someone that won't turn our wedding into a Sweet 16 party (don't like DJ's that walk all over the dance floor). We're looking for an elegent yet fun atmosphere. Names (and numbers, if possible) would be greatly appreciated.

We used Albert Lee Music. They were amazing and very reasonable. I'm sorry but I don't have the # with me but if you're interested, I can get it. A band wasn't in our budget and we didn't want a 'flashy' DJ (with hand-out sunglasses, sombreros, etc.). Al was great. He played all the songs on my play-list and didn't take any cheesy requests - only good ones. I would highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Spin Around Sound. We booked them after seeing them at my aunts wedding and they did a wonderful job at our wedding as well.

We are using Albert Lee Music also, same as Meg. I have listened- watched him with his video tapes as well as got high reviews on him. Let me know if you want the number.

We're using Music by Michael. He's a vendor on this site and you can find his contact info unser wedding services.
We were looking for a DJ like you described and Micahel fit the bill exactly!

you should really try michael at music by michael (musicbymichael.com) - he is NOT a huge company, very personal service, and professional, he did my wedding Oct. 12 and I was hugely satisfied! he was in touch with me all the time prior to the wedding, very accessible, I can't say enough about him!
edited to say, he was less expensive than all of theother DJ's we looked at by about $100.

I used Spin Around Sound as well and they are what you are looking for but I found them on the higher side for DJ's but worth every penny!

I'm another Spin Around Sound lover! They were perfect for us, no lights, no smoke, no props, very little talking. I felt they were priced equally with other DJs. So many people have told us it was the best mix of music they've heard at a wedding in years!

We used Big Hits Entertainment. My cousin used them first and my brother hired them for his wedding Feb 2003. We (my cousin and my brother) had and will have Wayne as our MC. We were very impressed and happy with the company and Wayne's proffesionalism that our family didn't look anywhere else for DJ. Their # is 800-Big Hits and you can also check their website @800bighits.com. The owners name is Jerry and he is very nice to deal with. They do offer giveaways, smoke, lights etc. but they do not push you to get them. In fact they even suggested if we wanted lights and smoke to get it from Floral Terrace since FT already have those set up. We paid $1395 for 4 hours and Jerry gave us free additional hour for cocktail music, but this price was last years. Their price may have gone up.

I second Big Hits. Saw them at 2 weddings, loved them so booked them. WE are using them next week for our wedding. I will post a review afterwards.

I am using a DJ recommended by my hall. I am 100% anti-lights, hats, blow up guitars and the Village People! So my hall said that I would love this one DJ...that he does exactly what you want. Plus I wanted low key, no MC....just a DJ. He has been great to work with so far and returns phone calls promptly. I can't really review him until after my wedding, but I am confident he will be good. I am paying $850 for five hours..which includes cocktail hour.
