DJ HELP!!!!!!!

Ok. we narrowed it down to two DJs. High Voltage Sounds or After Hours.

Can I please have pros and cons of both??? Also, if anyone used or is using High Voltage, did you do the package without the MC, and it's a dj/mc combination? Thanks!

I only spoke with them over the phone but eventually went with Parties Alive. I felt they offered the same but at much better prices.

We used Variety Entertainment DJ and they were great. Did the 2-man MC/DJ package and it was very, very reasonable in price. Sorry I can't help with your poll.

We are booked with After Hours. Phil is really great to work with and the prices are pretty good. Cheaper then some other DJs I met with.

Have you seen them at a wedding expo. It helps if you see them in person. Here are their upcoming performances.

Thank you! I met with them and I do like their prices. Everyone talks about Phil though. He is booked for our day. I'm wondering how the other MCs are. Brett and Carlton in particular.

After Hours! We booked with Phil but I've heard great things about Brett as well.

We wanted Carlton first but went w/ Phil - Brett is SUPER cool we met w/ him when we first started the DJ process. he is on the more mellow side - and Phil (even though booked for your day) is out there, having a good time getting the crowd going.

I guess you have to think of your guests and what you think they will respond best to. Carlton is outgoing too - not as much as Phil.

We have Phil as our MC and Brett as our DJ.

I don't know anything about the other DJ company so i cant say anything about them.

we booked high voltage last week.. we only met with 3 DJ's.
he was the second (the first we met with about a year ago lol) we LOVED him!!! there was no need to see anyone else.. but we had an appt so we saw dj#3...

I can't explain it, we just clicked with vinny (barbtony booked him as well and said the same thing to me- she was sooooo right)

We went with Brett at After Hours. FH used to work as a roadie for a wedding band, and is really into how the 'sound' is and was very impressed with how up to date they were, and really gave poor Brett 20 questions, because the worst thing for FH would be echoes and feedback. Also, they have somekind of software program that helps with the mixing of one song into another so the beats blend and don't sound weird. At the end of the meeting, FH felt Brett really knew his stuff, and I like that he was outgoing but not going to be harrassing our guests all night (we went to a wedding a few years ago and every other sentance out of the DJ's mouth was 'Get up everyone, dance' or 'why aren't you all dancing', meanwhile we're all like, can we finish our dinner first?) and not to mention, he gave us a great deal. And they have this kinetic screen thing they put in front of where the DJ stands so I don't have to have the big black thing there. I don't know why but that bothered me. HTH
