DJ lighting

Almost purchased uplighting from my DJ, but found out that Lessing's doesn't allow it (apparently Timber Point Mansion already has its own). We are considering a deluxe lighting package from the DJ (those white light towers on either side of the DJ booth for $400). Has anyone been to a wedding and noticed that these really made a difference? We are on a pretty tight budget but thinking about lighting because this is something that could definitely change the ambience and party feel (the DJ is the only thing we are splurging on because I feel that music can make or break a wedding).

We were originally going to do the uplighting but decided against it. We're just doing the 2 pylons (possibly adding 2 more if its in the budget).

That is great to know definitely about the uplighting....we just recently booked our dj but havent finalized our package and i was unsure about the uuplighting. Glad to gear Timber Point has their own.:)

I just went to an event at Leonard's of Great Neck that had uplighting. We aren't big fans of it and at first, it looked really cool. Then for some reason, it started making us feel dizzy lol. So no uplighting for us at the wedding.

We had what Tommy's Tunes calls 'basic lights' at our wedding, just a tower on each side of the DJ booth, and it was very inexpensive. It added just the right touch without being too much.
