I'm meeting with my DJ next week. How much detail do you give. I have a must play/do not play list,,, the first dance, parent songs, etc. .... but as far as the reception, I don't want to start listing every song. Is it ok to just give the types of music you want played? I think I'm overthinking this

Re: DJ Meeting
My DJ just said to give him our specific songs we want played and other than that just the genre that we want played and he would take it from there.

Re: DJ Meeting
I have a play/do not play list..first dance..to give to my DJ as well. I think that it is fine to give them types of music to play! you know your guests better than the DJ, so giving them stuff you and your like is help.

Re: DJ Meeting
FH is crazy and has a list of like 100 songs he wants played already, in addition to the first dance/cake cutting/garter & bouquet toss! But I think it's ok to just give them the specific songs you do/do not want and then the genres to let them take it from there.

Re: DJ Meeting
My DJ sent me a list to complete and it listed all the norms...first dance, parents dances, entrance etc. But it also had questions like....what are you favorite radio stations? What era of music do you like? What styles of music best describes you? etc... So you can either name every song you want, or just give a general style of your music and then they go from there. Im sure your DJ will provide you with the same kinda list where you can pick and choose. Hope this helps and good luck!
