Can anyone recommend a DJ? Our budget is pretty tight and we really don't want to spend over $1000. Are we nuts to thik we can do it for less? We don't want the favors and lighting. Just good music with a DJ that doesn't hog the show! Thanks!

You should check out nsgraham's budget webpage. She has a lot of good recommendations. If not, just post your request on the vendor's helping brides page and wait for some FM.

I also know that Ralph from Hi-Energy is under a $1000. He is based out of Ronkonkoma, he has been doing all the family weddings for years in my family.
