DJ Price Ranges

Looking for some ballpark $$$ for basic DJ coverage for reception - kinda no frills.

It depends. I haven't booked one yet, but a basic package with nothing special can start at around $1200 and up, I think.

I am paing 1500.0 for med size package I also was quoted form a DJ I wont mention and was told 5300.00 so it depends who you go to.

I am paying 1600 with cocktail hour live performer and give aways. that also includes a DJ and an MC.
I think our DJ is about 800 for ONLY the DJ.

I'm paying a little over $3,000 for a DJ, MC, Motivator (dancer), light technician and 250 props but my DJ tends to be a little pricier than most.

I paid 1500 for ours, no frills. And, worth EVERY penny.

Hi....

I'm also looking for a 'no frills' DJ. We're not doing any of the traditional stuff - bouquet toss/garter, etc. We're not into light shows, dancers, tossing 'toys' to the audience and all that stuff or picking people out of their seats to get on the dance floor!

We just want a classy D.J. to play the music that we want for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

We've scheduled an appointment to meet with Jerry from L&S Entertainment in November.

L&S is located in Valley Stream and has worked primarily for the Swan Club for 14 years.

He gave me a price for one DJ - $795 (cermony, cocktail hour and reception)

I originally spoke with someone from Energy Entertainment - also recommended by the Swan Club. They would charge around $1800 for the DJ & Emcee - for music at ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

I read a few recs for High Energy, and on their page, their basic package starts at $1100, but they do also have a $100 coupon on the site to print out that you can use towards that.

I am most likely going to use Ralph from Hi-Energy he is a vendor on here and has done most of fiance's families weddings and parties.

We used LA Entertainment for our DJ. We paid $1500 and we got a DJ, MC, giveaways, etc.
They did an awesome job.

I think mine goes for 1,000 but we are getting him cheaper because my sister cuts his hair, hes awesome and also is the MC, he did my sisters wedidng and he did a GREAT job!!!!!

We're using In The Mix DJ's and we'll be paying about $2,000 (DJ & MC). That includes Ceremony, Cocktail Hour & Reception music plus a some extras we opted for. However i know that their basic package goes for about $1,000.

She is fabulous. We ended up hiring a band, but I would have hired her in a second. She was totally reasonable ($1200) and came highly recommended.

I love the idea of a sophisticated DJ. Good luck!

We are using High Voltage Sounds( a vendor on this site). For a 'no Frills' just a DJ it is $600.

4 hour packages....
as low as 900(high voltage vendor on here)
and generally upto 2000(althought there are higher ones0

Leslie, try Music by Michael. He's exactly what you're looking for (which was pretty much the same that we were looking for).

We're paying approximately $1500 for 5.5 hours...ceremony, cocktail hour, reception. And we have the option of picking each and every song or giving him free reign.
