DJ prices

FH and I met with a DJ tonight who quoted us $1850 for their basic package- just a DJ and an MC. Lighting would be an additional $700. This seemed extremely high to us, but we haven't shopped around much so we're not sure if this an average price.

Would anyone mind sharing quotes you received from other DJ's for a basic package?

Basic package for Bravura is $2,100 - I have been to 3 weddings they DJ'd for and the dance floor was packed ALL night!

I booked with them on the spot!

This. Never heard a bad thing about them and never met a more professionally run company.

Your quote is on the high side. There are plenty of DJ's who have cheaper packages, but you have to think about what you're getting and what's priority for you. For example, FM entertainment gave us a much cheaper quote, but we really liked the fact that Bravura had an extra air of sophistication and professionalism and that they only do weddings. And also, all their musicians are in house, where other DJ's freelance their singers/musicians/performers when they offer extras.

Like everything else, it's about balance.

Just because they are pricy does not mean they are the best. Prices are high because they are popular and people are willing to pay. Your price does seem slightly high for a basic DJ package.

The same as if the price is the cheapest doesn't mean you're getting the best deal.
