DJ pricing and options

DJ pricing and options

We're looking at DJ's now and I want to thoughts on a quote we've gotten.

For live cocktail music (acoustic guitar), a DJ & MC with a basic lighting package and a percussionist we've been quoted $2,000 which seems very high to me. Any thoughts?

Also, has anyone been to a wedding with a percussionist? Thoughts? It sounds cheesy to me but maybe I'm wrong? We may also opt out of the lighting package, not sure we want it.

Without the percussionist it's $1495. Thanks!

I've gotten quotes with a DJ, a MC and just the reception music with basic light show ranging from $1,000 to $1,400. Adding a percussionist adds another few hundred...and cocktail music adds another few hundred on top of that. $2,000 may be on the high end but I think it's within the range for what your getting IMO.

Check out High Energy Ent....got a great quote from him!

I think it's an ok price but you can probably talk the package part (without the percussionist) down $100 or $200. Tell them it's out of your price range a little bit and you've heard some people getting better rates elsewhere and simply ask, Still, for all that I don't think it's very high.

We aren't getting live musicians...we are getting 2 plasmas, zap shots at the church and RH, and a couple other add-ons for $1700.

imo, the quote isn't high.

A drummer sounds great with the music. The only thing is if ur having one make sure your room is big enough to accomdiate the sound.

I went to new years eve at fox hollow and we were in the smaller room w/lower ceilings (don't know the name). Body rock was the DJ and they had a drummer but, imo, the room was a little small for the sound and it drowned out the dj.

Hi, we booked our DJ with an MC with the ultimate lighting package, and of course I need my cheesy props. =) for $1200. I have been to wedding were they have played and loved their work and had to book them for my wedding. They do have a percussionist but I don't know how much that is. FM for details.
