My friend is getting married in 2012, but she has no idea what is considered good pricing for a DJ. I'm no help b/c my DH's friends owned a company. What is kind of pricing should I tell her?

Re: DJ pricing... I'm asking for a friend
Sorry I'm no help...I know we paid more for our DJ than normal. It was the only DJ we saw because we got a good feeling from them from a past wedding we attended. We're paying $2300 for cocktail hour and reception.

we paid 1400 for a basic package.
it makes me cringe thinking about how much money we spent on the wedding now that we need the money for the house.

We spent about $1800 I think? We had a DJ/MC, 5 hours of music, intelligent lighting, and a monogram gobo with Body Rock. HTH!

Hmmm I think it depends what type of package your friend is looking for. We are doing a pretty big DJ package...6 hours of music, photo montage, zap shots, live musician, basic lighting, dj and mc for $2900.
