I was just wondering if you really need an MC and a DJ? Doesn't the DJ usually do a lot of the announcing, and getting the crowd going anyway?

Re: DJ question
No, the DJ is usually busy changing over CDs & planning what to play next...he does more of the 'technical' work.
The MC is the 'front man' and concentrates on the crowd to keep the party going...he also guides the DJ as to what type of music may be needed next, or keeping the 'schedule' of the wedding.

Re: DJ question
I thought this to when I was looking at DJ's at first, because the prices seem so high with an MC. But it is true the MC coordinates the whole night and dose all the talking. If price is a concern I know that the DJ I booked had a great DJ and MC package that was around $1000.
