dj question
I am looking for a dj. I am looking for areas where I can cut costs for the wedding so I was thing about using 1 person for both the dj/mc. Does anyone know how this works out. Will it be ok or do I need to have a separate dj and mc?

We are doing a one man DJ/MC. We didn't want an in your face kind of DJ, so the one man was perfect for us. Look at After Hours - talk to Phil!
Genesis events was the least expensive dj we met and they gave soooooo much
we're using fm entertainment. they are pretty inexpensive for both the dj and mc. I wanted both so the night would be sure to go smoothly. someone to announce everything and get the crowd going and someone to focus on the music.
I am booked with Ultimate Sound DJ and they have an affordable 1 man DJ/MC pckg.
A lot of the DJs I met with suggested one person for a smaller wedding (around 100 people) and two people for a larger wedding. If you have a smaller wedding or your family and friends will keep the party going by themselves (or you don't anticipate a lot of dancing anyway) cutting out the MC is a great way to save money!
Tommy's Tunes is reasonably priced, and they have certain people who specialize in doing both DJ/MC at the same time.
We did the one man DJ/MC with Frank at FM Entertainment and he was great! I did not think a 2nd person was needed at all for our reception.
