Is it normal for you to choose a specific DJ / MC? I asked the company that I booked with and the guy said 'Not Usually'. What the hell is that supposed to mean I thought. They are a very well known LI company too, so I KNOW that there are plenty to choose from. What should I do?
you choose your MC. Not your DJ. If it's a combo you MIGHT get to choose but probably not. Most MC's don't DJ and visa versa.
I am having a one man DJ/MC team and I was told that I won't know who it is until a month or so before my wedding. There are two guys who it may be and I have heard great things about both so I'm not too worried.
With both DJs that I met with, I told them that I'd want them to be my MC, but they both said it depends on the schedule that week and nothing is set in stone. FH said he'd pay extra to get the MC we want, but we'll see what happens!
I find that funny since I'm assuming you may have put a deposit down like I did. I'm probably stressing over something that will be fine. LOL
Our MCs name is on our contract and we picked him. I think MCs generally bring a DJ that they would with frequently.
I didn't pick my MC or DJ. They gave us the option to pick our MC, but honestly, they knows their MCs better than I do so they know who will fit our style.
honestly, fh and i didn't book with a certain vendor bc we werent going to find out who our dj/mc was until the day of the wedding...im sorry but i want to know who it is so i can see if i like the guys personality/style etc.
Yes, we didn't book anyone who wasn't willing to let us pick. One company went as far to say that they will know who best suits our personalities - that's kind of amazing because they don't know us!! The company we went with not only let us pick our MC, but also let us pick the back-up MC if, god forbid, anything were to happen. All of this is in our contract with them.
I requested someone and had it written in to my contract...without a problem!
Hmmm I will have to call up the company and discuss with them now! Or better yet, my FH who is the BEST negotiator /sweet talker that I have seen will have to deal with this. Thank God!
It is written in our contract who our MC/DJ (one man) is...I wouldn't have booked if I didn't know who it was going to be.
I didn't get to pick either and was told they can't allow you to choose a year in advance because of scheduling.
