DJ questions

I know we have been over this 1,000 times but I have an appointment with 2 dj companies this weekend. What questions should I ask regarding a dj and what should I ask regarding a band?

For a DJ:

-do they offer services during the CH?
-how many people are included in the package? An MC and DJ or is one person both the MC and DJ.
-do they offer special lighting?
-do they offer plasma screens to do montages?
-do they have any videos of weddings they have done? So you can see their work.
-do they have any showcases coming up? So you can see them work in person.
-do they work with a band?

Sorry, I don't have any questions for a band?

DJ Questions:

* See their MC's that are available to you. If they don't have showcases ask to see their video clip
*Are they insured
* who will be your DJ? Explain the type of music you like. Some DJ's mix certain types of music better then others
*Extras? Giveaways, live music, light packages
* How many people will be there that day (in case you decide to feed them you need to know how many to budget properly)
*If you are getting lighting packages ask to see pictures or video of the exact package you are getting
*what happens if ur MC is sick the day of
* Have they worked at your hall before? If no provide them with a layout


As some general advise.. please please PLEASE do not pay anything extra for basic cocktail hour music when ur sales person acts like they are doing you a favor. All it is is a small amp w/a cd player in it tucked under a table somewhere. This should be included automatically in your packages.

If you're looking at bands:

* How many hours?
* CH music?
* Do you get the exact people you see?
* Continuous play or breaks? If breaks, how many?
* Over-time charge?
* Playlist?
* Can they learn songs?
