DJ Timeline?

Can anyone post one? Or give us an idea? We're getting married in FL and the DJ's timeline very diffferent than how we want to do things...but I need a template to work with to send to him. lol. )ie: when dances are, how long for dinner, when open dance floor times are etc...). Just something to work with.

well dinner we didnt tell them how long to do it for. Thats all on the RH and when they will serve the dinner so talk to your rh and dinner is over when ppl are done, i wouldnt put an exact time on it and i didnt.

The only things i had to tell him were which dances we were doing and what songs. The length of them all depended on the length of the songs themselves. You can do first dance soon after entrances which is what i did, and then some do the parent dances right after or wait until later at night

as far as open dance floor times, whenever we werent on the dance floor doing first dance or any dances, garter, cake cutting and all of that, plus dinner then the dance floor was open

how do you want to do things, and how do they have it. My dj didnt tell me when to do things. We gave them our timeline

He gave us a 'suggested' timeline...but those Floridians do things a lil different. hehe. Like...when do we do the parent dances? (We don't want to do them right after our first dance.) After the first course?? After dinner? We also have to fit in his father singing and we're getting married on his parents 35th anniversary and wanted to play their wedding song as well....don't know when to do all these things...

My timeline for the DJ (keep in mind, we had a buffet dinner).

6:30pm Cocktail hour begins in the Atrium.
7:00-7:30pm Family photo session
7:45pm Doors open for guests
8:00pm Introductions
8:15-8:20pm Speech and toast by groom’s father
8:20pm First dance
8:25pm Speech by Bride’s father
Speech by Bride’s friend
8:30pm Father and daughter dance (Stand By Me by the Wedding Singers)

8:35pm Dancing begins
9:30pm DJ announces that dinner is served – NO LATER THAN 9:30
10:00pm Cake cutting (How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You by Marvin Gaye)
10:10-10:15pm Bouquet and garter toss
10:15pm DJ announces that chinese slippers are available for women by the DJ booth
10:20pm DJ announces that dessert is served – NO LATER THAN 10:30
