Have you guys heard any new news on the whole Time Warner/Cablevision dispute?

btw.. the other day on Classic Sports, they re-aired the Braves/ Mets game from 1985 on the Fourth of July.. it brought back some really good memories.

Based on what happened with YES and Cablevision... I don't see this coming back anytime soon unless Time Warner gives in.

I have already accepted that.

I do plan on calling Time Warner and bitching them out about this and threaten to switch to RCN. I am already on one of their retention plans though because I threatened to switch to RCN in the past.... so I may not get far.

Sorry to cut in, but I figured you were all talking about the mets when I saw the subject line. DH and I are so p***ed about not being about to watch the Mets tonight. I agree about $2 not being enough compensation!

DJ, what exactly happens when you're on a retention plan?

It means I pay less than all of you do. Thats about it.

I am getting a $32 discount a month for six months from them. Granted my cablebill is normally $140 buks so now its like $110 or something like that so I still pay alot.

They aren't going to discount your bill for nothing. You have to give them a reason to... like to threaten to leave or something along those lines. Its risky though cause if you do that... then they can just cut you off and not give you jack.

You could try and see what they say. But its much more of a pain in the *** to get Sattelite than it is to get cable and they know that.

Plus if you live in a building... they will know you cant get satellite.
