DJPill, DMAG and OctGroom

Question:

When the YES Network was unavailable to all the Yankee fans, everyone was up in arms to the point that Bloomberg got involved and made the 2 sides come to his house and, over breakfast, made them work out a deal.

Where's the support for the Met fans from NYC legislation???

I am afraid to say.. I believe there's a 'win or you're nothing' mentaliity that pervades sports. The media figures that because the Mets are struggling big time, nobody cares. The Mets don't generate good ratings and make a lot of revenue.. or at least not as much as the Yanks do.

If the roles were reveresed and the Mets had won like 4 WS's and made it a couple of other times.. and had an international following as well as their own network.. they would get the same attention. It's all about the money.

The Yanks mean $$$$$.
The Mets mean $$.

That's the problem and it totally sucks.

i dunno too much about what's going on, but DH is P-O'd about this......he can only watch the Mets in Spanish when he is at his bro's house...luckil we have satellite, so we did not lose any channels.

It's a load of cr@p.

Sucks hard. But there ain't much else we can do except just wait it out.

All I am hoping for is when they do reach an agreement... i want the channels put back... and in Hi-Def.

My guess would also be that the Yankee thing went on for a whole season. Yankee fans were without games for an entire season. It wasn't that much of a deal at first it was as the season went on and no terms were reached. The Mets problem just occured and enough people haven't complained enough yet. Plus George is more likely to go to the media and cause a big deal.
