DJ's

Hi everyone - I'm new to the boards (I've only looked, never actually wrote anything. :)

We're looking for a dj and have it narrowed down to a few (based on things we've heard etc) but we are really looking for more feedback from people who've actually used them already or heard these dj's at a wedding:

DJ's Unlimited
Music By Michael
Tommy Tunes

Any feedback??

Thanks all!

Re: DJ's

We booked Music by Michael, and I can only give feedback on him because I don't know anything about the other two. I just thought he was very to the point. If you want someone who will be classy and not cheesey, he is really good to go with. He seems to know his business inside and out, and his online planner is GREAT! I just felt at ease with him. One of my main requirements for vendors is that they tell me enough about them that I barely have any questions. He answered questions I didn't even know I had! Hope that helps.

Re: DJ's

i used djs unlimited and in my opnion they did a horrible job and they are overpriced for what we got from them. they forgot to give my centerpieces away after i told them 10 times and wrote it down the my instructions. they messed up the music for my montages and the had the parent dances way to late into the evening. i gave them a list of songs to play and was told they would ONLY play off my list they played anything but what was on my list. they didnt have half the songs i wanted and i was assured by the owner they have everything when i offered to bring them hmmm what else everytime they did play one of my songs and i had the dance floor packed they took it upon themselves to play what they wanted again and cleared my dance floor. i have a reminder of this on my video. i used one if the better mcs and he did a horrible job. they should have payed me because all the basically did was eat and drink for free all night. would i reccomend them in my opnion no. i did see them at a friends wedding and they were great but that mc was long gone when i booked.

We are using Tommy tunes...heard them at 3 weddings and all three were the best 'dancing ' weddings so we went with them...they were about $300 more then the other we looked out so it was an ok deal...

We're using Tommy's Tunes. We saw them at a couple of bridal shows, and we thought they were awesome. We're using Joe Errico.

We are using Tommys Tunes. My family/friends have used them a bunch of times. My sister just used them on Friday They may be a little more expensive but definately worth it... this coming from a budget conscious girl.

Deciding on a dj was the hardest for me and my fiance. We've decided to go with Music by Michael. We really liked him...totally genuine. He's very different from the rest.

We are using Music by Michael.
I asked Marie at Wild Rose VIdeo to show me one of his weddings when I was there for my video appt. He was great. He had everyone dancing, but he was not in their faces. He doesnt have a big set up w/ his names in light and no cheesy hand outs.
His online wedding planner is great

We met with Music By Michael and Tommy Tunes. The differences:
1. Music By Michael is completely computerized, which means that he can get any song you want and can mix songs from one to the other very easily. He was very personable and will completely explain every piece of equipment he has to you as well as his role in the industry. He is not a house vendor for anyone nor advertises anywhere else but LIWEDDINGS. He does not do showcases. The package we looked at with tip/tax was about $2000
2. Tommy Tunes did not elaborate about thier equipment nor there niche. They do not need to because they are very well known. There reputation speaks for themselves. However, you may not have the availibility to meet YOUR MC. We new exactly who we wanted so we booked him right away (FRANKIE). All of there stuff is on CD's. Frankie got us psyched for our party and gave us some unique ideas. I have seemed them perform and are awesome. They were $150 less than Music By Michael. I have never seen Michael.

Things to think of:
1. How do you feel with the company?
2. Ask if you can meet the MC. Actually, demand it.
3. Ask if your MC has larigitis (spelling oops!), who will be the back up. (Music By Michael MC's all of his events)

Good luck. Sorry it is sooo long. I have tons more info. but it is my opinions so I do not want to influence you TOOOO much. LOL
If you have ques. you can ask.

Just wanted to say that Michael from Music by Michael DOES have an associate who he's worked with for 8 years who can MC the event in case something happens to Michael.
