DJs

What are some good questions to ask?

Really the only thing coming to mind right now is can you NOT jump around like a monkey? but I feel that might be construed as offensive.

Besides payment schedules, cancellation policies, must play lists, and all that good stuff.

TIA!!!

If you say you want a more low key approach, they will get the hint.

I don't think that is rude if you ask that he not jump around like a monkey... those were not my exact words but I told out DJ flat out I only want you to talk to introduce us and that is it.....no give aways....no craziness...jsut play good music.

My DJ was right on to what I wanted....he is great!

I went to long island sound. when he asked me what i wanted i said 'i dont want a fist pumping DJ yelling at my grandma to 'get out on the dance floor''. he laughed and thanked me for being honest, sooo i think its perfectly acceptable to tell them exactly what you want. and btw i totally understant ur fear of scary djs

You have to let them know exactly how involved you want them to be. I kept telling FH that the key word for our wedding is 'elegant' so when we went dj shopping, I was REALLY nervous. I didn't want it to come off as a Sweet 16. I was put at ease immediately with my dj and it was almost as if he read my mind, because he said, 'I get the feeling you're looking for elegant.' That sold me!

No giveaways, no MC, just introduce us and play music. I told him I don't want to see him on the dance floor and he cracked up.
