Anyone have Just a DJ and not add on the MC? Im pretty sure the DJ will do announcements and all...I thik the MC is like the hype man- Ok Advise please......

a DJ can still do announcements but will usually be less personable than an MC. an MC will do better at getting the party going, and keeping the energy up.
that said, i think that if you can afford both, you should ... but if you can't, then just a one-man-show will be fine.

i think if your wedding is small enough, you should be fine w/ just a DJ.

We're having only the one man dj/mc...we aren't doing any crowd participation dances and we're having a small wedding so we didn't want to spend the money for both.
Honestly, I really dislike MCs anyway...I hate the pressure to get up and dance and I find most of them to be totally obnoxious.

I've been to weddings with both DJs and MCs and just DJs. I feel like the ones with both have absolutely had more energy, so it really depends what type of vibe you're going for.

Thanks ! Weddings going to be anywhere from 150 to 190 (hoping for the lower) the people coming are party people even the oldies. I kinda dont feel like adding the MC- the one we wanted isnt available for the day anyways. Not like that money isnt needed somewhere else- Lol

We are only having 1 person. We are not into the crowd particpation..the constant talking or any of that so we just needed someone for announcments and we did not want to pay extra for it
