Do all BM dresses have to be ordered from same place?

I know they are supposed to be because you want them ordered at the same time also so you get the same dye lot. If you are ordering from the same designer though, would it really be noticeable? The reason I am asking is because I may have two out of town bridesmaids and it just isnt practical to have them come here in time to order them. OR do you think its a better idea to have them send their measurements and then I can send them the dresses(that is what one of them did for her wedding).
But then there is the added expense of mailing it and hoping it doesnt get too wrinkled. What do you think? the

I would just get their measurements and have the dress shipped to them. I've been in a few OOT weddings and that's what we did. It's easier to work with just one bridal store.

Additonally there is this thing about ordering from one dye lot-so all BM dresses are the same shade of the color you chose. If you order from different store, they could be off a bit.

I agree with the other posters...you should order them all from the same store. When dresses are all ordered in one order, they are guaranteed to be from the same dye lot. Many BM dress designers are so large that the number of dresses they're manufacturing cannot be of the same dye lot due to the sheer volume of orders. Dye lot variation can be pretty significant/noticeable, so I probably wouldn't want to take chances.

SInce my BM were all picking their own style of dress I was told there was no guarantee they were going to be from the same dyelot. So one of mine BM, ordered in Syracuse, where she lives.
The one in GA faxed in her measurements. However, she has to pay 25 shipping fee when the dress comes in.

Have you considered doing RK Bridal.com
Have your BMs get their measurements and order them online.

Unless the girls were from out of town I would do it at the same store...you don't want to dyelots to be different this can make each dress color slightly different

The dresses for the girls in my party were ordered from three different places and you couldn't tell the difference. I wouldn't worry about dye lots. Do whatever is easiest for the people in your party.

The last three girls on the left wore dresses from three different places.

Soooo true. I have seen that happen before. All of our dresses were a deep merlot and the girl that didn't order with us got her dress and it was about 2 shades lighter. I would recommend placing all the orders together. Even if the BM can't make it for the first fitting she can give you her measurements so you can at least order the dress.

wow, this is good to know... all of my BMs are in LI except for one in Pittsburgh... I'm going to take all of you advice and order tehm all in LI... thanks girls!

i had 2 oot bm's and they send me their measurements and i ordered all at the same time. there is no need for them to come here, they just need to go to a tailor and get measured
