Do any of you have a gap between the Church and Cocktail Hour???
Hello Girls
I just booked my church yesterday but the latest time slot they had was 230pm. My cocktail hour doesnt start until 7pm. By the time we get out of the church it will be around 330 and i just feel like 3.5 hours is soooo long. Do any of you have long breaks like that??? If so what do you plan on doing during that time??? Obviously i know pictures, but i dont think i can take 3 hours of pics hahaha any other suggestions?!?!?!?!

My church is at 3:00 and CH at 7. I think having a nice gap is good b/c you have a lot of time to take pics and then be able to make it your CH!

are you girls going back to one of your houses for pics first? My friend did that and it was nice. THen the bridal party went with them to take other pics at another location. Since I have the time I wanna take pics at like 2 different locations, just not sure where yet!!!

My church starts at 2:30 and the CH starts at 6:30. When you get out of the church depends on 1 if you have a full mass and 2 if you do the recieving line there. If yes to both it will take longer.
Also take into consideration how far your church is from the hall and if there are any OOT guests, it may take them longer to get there.
IMO you would be fine.

I keep getting into this same arguement with my mom. Unfortunately when you get married in a church on a Saturday, you're really stuck with having the gap in between the church and the cocktail hour. But most people understand this! I keep trying to stress that to my mom, but her ears are either full of earwax, or she just being a huge pain in my @$$. I think it's the latter. Most people understand that there's going to be a gap. I think for the most part, if you're having mostly local people it will be fine. They themselves will have enough time to go back to their own house and freshen uo perhaps even change into their more formal attire. If you're having a lot of oot guests, it might be nice to have them go to a relative's house for some water/soda/tea and crackers/cheese or what not. I'm having a lot of oot guests, so that's why I was looking at places that had lodging either at the facility itself or nearby. That way people who are staying overnight can go back to their hotel rooms and freshen up, take a nap, etc. It's going to happen no matter what and if people mind, tough luck. You need time to take your pictures to enjoy your cocktail hour and that's that. At least that's how I'm rationalizing it!

When I spoke to the photo guy he said that a gap is good. You need time to refresh you makeup prior to pictures, then after pictures, travel time (worse on Fri's during rush hour) plus time for pictures at the church and then at your hall and sometimes at another location. He said it goes so fast!! Plus family pictures and wedding party pictures. He said the more time you leave the better chance you have of making your cocktail hour. You can always relax and drink

My church is at 330 and my cocktail hours at 700. My photographer said to leave enough time for pictures. We want to go down to the beach for pics.
