I know they didn't bother us when we were in Costa Rica. We were eating at a restaurant and they were flying around all over the place. But since you are PG I wouldn't risk it, if you don't have to!

OK, well you guys just made my decision for me. The dog stays out until midnight, when DH gets home. I have totally freaked myself out over this.I feel like I keep hearing noises. I'm nuts

They tend to be most active (hunting insects) at dusk, so I would imagine it would be ok to get your dog at this point in the night.

Many years ago when I lived in Albany a bat got into my apartment somehow!!! We trapped it in a shoe box and put it back outside.

We used to gets bats in our house in Delaware all the time. They are hideous looking creatures!!

They are also really sneaky. It got in, flew around and then hid itself under a wicker rocking chair. We didn't know where it was until it started making noises to guide itself out.

They are just awful and they totally freak me out. But not as much as crickets!

I hate Crickets!!

bts are all over the place. i grew up in Mineola and we have them there...

want to hear a funny story aboutt hem?
ok...here it is!

When I was growing up, I was very literal...and one night when we were out playing, someone yelled...'Hey, there's a bat' and pointed at the sky.

SIlly me didn't know a bat was an animal, so I looked up expecting to see a baseball bat flying through the air with wings on it.....

I got made fun of for days!!!

Bats will not hurt you...they hunt insects. There are people who actually have bat houses, in order to attract them so they will eat all the mosquitos, etc. (I don't have one! )
