Do bridal party members get to have guests?

Do bridal party members get to have guests?

Most of my bridal party members are single and/or are dating casually, but none are in a serious relationship with the exception of one. Their fates may change by the time I get married, but am I obligated to invite (boyfriends/girlfriends) they are not serious about? Please advise!

As a courtesy to them, I plan to give them the option. But for guests that are not in a serious relationship, I am only inviting them.

Unless they are dating someone seriously, I wouldn't feel obligated. If you invite them w/o guests, you can always tell them verbally, that if they want to bring someone to let you know.

We invited everyone - regardless of dating status - with a date.

I would invite bridal party with guests.. I was a MOH and not invited with a guest as she was trying to bring costs down. I was very insulted. I knew price was an issue and would not bring someone unless it was someone special..

Turns out I started dating FH 4 months before the wedding.. She told me she 're did' my invite to include me with a date-- so it worked out.. Actually at her wedding was the first time he told me he loved me.. Imagine if she did not invite me with a date??!!

Anyway- this experience taught me that your guests of honor should def be granted the courtersy- just cause they are invited with a date- does not mean they will bring one.

You're never obligated to do anything, but its always nice to be invited w/ a guest--and leave it up to them if they want to come alone or not. Some of mine are coming alone, some arent.

Yes, I have a strong opinion on this and feel they definitely should be invited with guests. After all they've done for you as BP members, they deserve that.

A friend of mine didn't invite BP members w/out serious girlfriends/boyfriends w/ guests and I thought it was in bad taste (as did many others, including a groomsmen who was extremely upset by it).

I say yes....and I feel strongly about this too. Why wouldnt the most important people in your life be able to bring a date?

I would definetly invite as LEAST your bridal party with a date, if not everyone...

Friends of ours invited all our single friends without dates, including the BP and they were a little upset that they weren't told ahead of time, or given the option to bring someone if they wanted to. Most of them probably would have went alone anyway, but felt that the option would have been nice!

If you are going to invite them without guests, maybe talk to them ahead of time and let them know that its a thought. Our friends were very confused! (there was also no writing on the inside envelope, where 'and guest' is usually written!) The bride and groom never told them they were even thinking of doing it... some of them were veyr hurt.

Hope I helped!

I think BP members should def be invited with guests, whether or not you are inviting other people with guests. The BP are your honored guests, who do alot for you throughout your wedding planning....they should def be allowed to bring a guest.

Yes. You should give them the option to bring a guest with them.

If they are invited with a guest are they supposed to be invited with their guest to the RD?

I was talking about this to a friend of mine. She was the MOH at a wedding and at the time was not dating anyone. So she was not invited with a guest and she was a little upset. I think it is very nice to invite them with a guest, since they are in your BP and let them decide what they want to do. JMO!

All of our invitations will say 'and guest' so the few single people can have an option. I think the BP should especially have that option, since they are serving you on your day, they should be allowed to bring pretty much whoever they want. Telling they can't seems kind of mean. I know someone at work who just got married and only invited people with guests if they were engaged or married. She didn't realize it until later but a lot of peopel expressed extreme disappointment. I mean, think about how you would feel sitting at a table with a bunch of people and no date. I probably would not go at all.
