Do Catholic churches do Sunday afternoon weddings???

We were planning on having our ceremony at our venue, but now we're having second thoughts. Do Catholic churches perform wedding ceremonies on Sunday afternoons (figure around 2:00)??? Maybe it depends on the church???

It depends on the church, just like the 'no rose petals on the floor' thing.........my ceremoney is a Sunday afternnon, but I have heard ladies on here say there church doesn't perform Sunday ceremonies.

I know a lot of churches will do a ceremony on a Sunday, but not a mass. I think it depends on the individual church.

I got married on a Sunday and I had a full mass at 2:30 p.m. However, I could not get married on a Sunday that the church held baptims which left me to 2 Sundays a month to chose from.

Most will, I think it depends on the Church. We're getting married at 3:30pm because we had to wait for the baptisms to be over.

We're getting married on a Sunday at 2:00 and having a full mass. As mentioned above we could not have gotten married on a Sunday when there are baptisms scheduled. We also had to time our wedding between the day's masses.

My church said this, too. They say it is because they don't have enough priests to offer the masses for the parish and then offer mine (we have a big parish with a lot of masses on Sunday)

I contacted an outside priest to offer the mass. My church is fine with that

My church will only do a ceremony on a Sunday - not a full mass.

My church will only do ceremonies on Sundays, due to what someone said above- the priests are saying masses all morning for the parish and have baptisms on some Sundays. If you have a ceremony on Sunday, the deacon does it.

However, I have a priest friend who is doing the wedding, and he is doing a full mass. The church is fine with this, they just don't have the staff to do masses themselves.

Good luck.

Not at Christ the King in Commack unless you know an outside priest who can preform the ceremony and then it has to be approved by the pastor.
