I want to have some music that is not religious, but nice, and appropriate...do churches allow choirs to sing songs other than the traditional hymns etc.?

Some do, some don't. You really need to check with your church. Some have much stricter rules than others when it comes to secular music. I know that my church didn't really have a problem with it.

I agree with Stef. My church will not permit any secular music. In fact, they have a sheet listing the only music they will allow. It totally depends on the church.

you'll have to check with the individual church...I know w/ my church they have to 'review' any non-religious music.
