Do DJs negotiate??

We met with 2 DJs and the one we want is $500 more AND they are preferred vendors at our RH so they get free food....so of course we want them.

Is there a way to call them up & say 'hey we'll use you but can you go cheaper'??

All of the DJs we went to see were willing to go down in price. I agree the worst they can say is no

Usually the reason they are more is because they have to pay a fee to the hall for being the house vendor. So if they are the house vendor and you book them.. then like 10% of your bill goes to the reception hall so they jack up their prices. So i am sure they will go lower but thats why they will always be priced higher!
