Re: DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ANNOYED
jmho...BUT...maybe being that she's in the bridal party it will be easier if she comes alone? All my bm's came alone unless they're husband/boyfriend was in the bp as well.

I wouldn't be annoyed. It's her decision whether or not she wants to hire a babysitter or bring her husband. Just be glad she is coming!

really? all my bm's came with their bf's and none of their bf's were in the bp. same with the gm, all their girls and wives came and none of them were in the bridal party. I would've been upset if any of them did it, since i am close to most of their bf's/gfs or wives
to answer the OP: we had quite a few people do this. A few people were upset we said no kids, so instead of looking for a babysitter, their husbands didnt come and they made sure to let us know its bc they have kids and were not having kids at the wedding, so who will watch the kid? meanwhile for a couple of people who did this, we know their IL's watch the kids all the time. WE had our friends come and they have kids, and it was no problem for them and they said they wouldn't bring their kid even if we allowed kids. They were able to have someone watch the kid. I know when DH and i have kids, we will NOT attend a wedding with a small child, i personally dont want to bring my kid to an event that ends late sorry but i think its wrong, you see some kids so exhausted and they have to stay in a noisy place, sometimes falling asleep on chairs, i especially dont understand when people bring babies, they sleep most of the time so why would you do that to the kid, there is loud music and i just think its wrong. We will have both of my parents we can leave it with to watch for the night.
I just dont understand some people. FOr us though we know they were REALLY upset about the no kids things and did say to others they were upset about this and didnt understand it, so we found out it was done on purpose

Re: DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ANNOYED
I think it's strange....most of my friends who are already married with children look for events like weddings and stuff to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!! But, things may be tight for her and she doesn't want to admit that so, don't be annoyed...just be happy

I think I am just more shocked than anything else.. I know things are tight for them.. but they have a huge family... and I know there are people to watch them. o'well I guess I should look at it as ONE less person to pay for being that we went way over our guest list #

My sister is coming without her husband and kid. I thought it was a little wierd...but whatever. It's her choice....

Honestly, it wouldn't bother me but the older I get, the more 'eh' about things I become.

Re: DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ANNOYED
There maybe other reasons your not aware of??
I had a cousin not respond till the last minute b/c she is coming alone - aparantly shes splitting with her husband and had not let the family know yet.
We had 1 good friend of FH that isnt bringing his wife b/c they need someone to watch thier daughter - BUT they live out of state so thats different.
I also had 2 other people respond without their spouse (and they dont have kids).

Re: DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ANNOYED
i dont know if this really applies but lately i have been hearing a lot on this that people in the BP arent bringing guests for 2 reasons
1. ifr their sig other is in the BP what does the other person do or go in the meantime?
2 because they dont know the seating arrangments and dont want to leave their sig other at a table without them. with people they dont know
now im not saying that is the case with the people you are talking about but just thought i would add in my 2 cents

Re: DO I HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ANNOYED
maybe she thinks she will have more fun by herself, being in a bridal party you really dont get to spend a lot of time w/ your date. JMO Dont let it bother you
