FH is one of the groomsmen for my brother's wedding. The tux RENTAL is $210 + tax. is that ridiculous?

I don't know how much tux rentals are but that's more then some bm dresses that people buy, not rent.

I don't know how much a tux is supposed to cost, but that is INSANE!!!!!! OMG! I wouldn't even want to spend that much on a BM dress that I would own thereafter!
I would be mad if I were you too. It s u cks paying for unnessecary things when you're trying to save for a wedding.

Re: do i have a right to be mad?
i think its a little high but i know fh was in a wedding recently and the tux was like $150...
but think of it like the gm only have to get a tux, they dont have to spend money on hair/makeup etc so i dont think that 210 is outrageous.

That does seem really high...but it may be dependant on where they are going for their tuxes...FH was in his cousins wedding and the tux was around $120+tax, but that was from Men's Warehouse...If its a private tux place it will more than likely be more...

BOTH! we are both trying to save for our weddings and my bro is CONSTANTLY broke. i dont understand why he would want other people to waste their money on that price of a rental. i can see $150 but 210 is too much.
our BM dresses were $160 but at least i will own it.
ive said something to him already but he didnt listen to me cuz im the little sister.
any suggestions on convinvcing him to change the tuxes to something less expensive? he's got time, getting married end of october.

keep buggin him!....if he still doesn't budge...maybe worth out a deal with the tux shop? maybe they'll cut a deal if you combine rentals for your brother's wedding and you guarantee that you will rent from them for your weding too?

Re: do i have a right to be mad?
that is A LOT fh never paid more than 100 for a tux rental when he needed one..is there any way you can find out the designer and go see if they have it anywhere else for cheaper?

That does seem a little pricey..but unfortunatly, when you're in a wedding party you agree to all costs.

Re: do i have a right to be mad?
that does sound high for a rental.
however, i don't know if there is much else you can do, you have already confronted him on the cost and he doesn't seem to want to change places. it sounds like you might just have to get it there.....or maybe you can suggest just your FH going elsewhere to get it?

I understand that you agree to certain costs, but when they are exorbitant you should speak your mind. And the B&G should also be respectful of the BP members as well and their financial obligations.

Re: do i have a right to be mad?
FH was in brothers wedding two years ago and the tux rental was about $200. I was annoyed, yeah, especially since our dresses didnt even cost as much, but unfortunately you can't do anything about it.
My thought is, when you ask someone to be in your wedding, and you are not going to pay for it (ex: tux rental) then you should be considerate and not choose something a little excessive like a $210 tux rental. But that is just me. Quite honestly, the tuxes for the brothers wedding were nice, but in all honesty, dont know if the average person could tell the difference between that and a $100 something dollar rental.

Re: do i have a right to be mad?
Yes, I would be mad. FH's cousin just rented a tux and he only paid $120 or something like that. Maybe it's because of the designer of the tux; but that is excessive to me.
