ok...soooo...back when i first got engaged i wanted to take our wedding pics at old westbury gardens. then i decided it would be too $$$ (between the fee & oaying our limo more bc that would put him over on time) and too annoying to go over there. so i opted not to do it and let it slip out of my mind.
lately i've been thinking about how i'd like to go somewhere and take pics in between church & wedding...
enter the 'bridezillas' episode from last nite....a girl from hempstead was on there & where did she go for her pics???? OLD WESTBURY GARDENS!!! it lit a fire under me and now i want to go there soooooo bad!!! the thought of not taking pics there make me wanan have a panic attack. i look at pics of brides from there (camacho comes to mind right away) and i think i might stop breathing if i cant take pics there. i dont care about the $...i will bite the bullet. my question is this.....
will i have time?? my church is a full mass & starts at 3pm in valley stream. my cocktail hour starts at 7:30pm at the watermill in smithtown (usually takes around 35-40 min from valley stream).
i'm not planning on attending my cocktail hour. so do i have time???
help calm me down ladies!!! i'm in a PANICCCCC!!!!

Re: Do I have time???
How far is OWG from the church? And how far from Watermill?
If it's relatively close (like 25 minutes or under) from the church and Watermill, then I think you have time for a 1.5-2 hour session at OWG!
Full mass - everything including pics at the church should be done by about 4:30pm.
Travel under 1/2 hour. Arrive at OWG at 5pm.
Pics for 2 hours at OWG. Travel under 1/2 hour to Watermill. Arrive at 7:30pm. And you still have one hour to take pics at the Watermill during your CH, or time to relax/refresh etc.
Go for it!

Re: Do I have time???
I think you have plenty of time
my church is a ceremony & starts at 3pm in seaford. my cocktail hour starts at 7:00pm in east northport and I'm taking pictures at Old Westbury Gardens. I'd call RIGHT AWAY to see if your time slot is open at OWG. you get 1 1/2 hours at the gardens. mine starts from 4:30-6.

Re: Do I have time???
i think you have time... but it depends on how many pics you want at OWG. Our friends went there before their ceremony and they were there longer than they budgeted for (but they did get a lot of great pictures). I think they only budgeted an hour and a half but actually took a little over 2 hours. As long as your photographer(s) are quick, you should be alright... don't forget that if you do the receiving line at the church that that might take longer than you think... which might not leave you with enough time... would you consider taking pics before the ceremony? or maybe not because you don't want FH to see you prior to ceremony... you have some decisions to make... best of lucK!!!!!!
