My FH and I keep going back and forth over limos. At first we were going to skip them to save money, then we were considering them and now FH is back to thinking we don't need them. We have 12 people in our bridal party, plus parents, FG and RB to transport. Everyone will be getting ready at The Tides Motor Inn in Bayville. We'll all have to go to the Planting Fields for photos, and then to The Crescent for the ceremony and reception. All of these places are under 10 minutes from each other. Do we HAVE to have limos?

Re: Do I HAVE to?
You don't have to do anything, it's your wedding - but IMO I think it would be a lot easier for all of you to get around by limo. Plus it's usually a fun experience with everyone in the car. You don't have to get a separate one for you and FH but we did, and it was great that we had some one on one time before the reception.

We just weren't sure is that little driving was worth $1300. I guess we still have to weigh our options. FH is being really cheap with everything wedding related, so I may just have to suck it up and pay for it myself.

I'm going to try to skip limos. We're having the ceremony & reception at the same place and it's the only place we're taking pics. I figure the BMs will be with me so one of them can drive and then FI can drive himself with his people. If you have 2 people with big cars or SUVs, you should be okay, but my concern would be your dress fitting in the car--if it's poofy or something.

I am in a similar situation.... only I am getting married at the hall which is literally 5 minutes from my home. I think I am going to arrange for one to pick us up after it's all done and take us to our hotel. I also want to arrange for a shuttle service of some kind to take our OOT guests to and from the hall.

I am under the same predicament. I am having everything at the Swan Club (reception, ceremony). I am going to try to avoid the limo thing. Problem is... my best man doesn't drive.... nor do two out of three of my groomsmen.
I'll have to figure something out... but I got plenty of time still.

Honestly - we're taking whatever cars we have and some cabs. We're like 15 minutes away from the hall.

Re: Do I HAVE to?
We are doing a similar situation with everyone getting ready at the Melville Marriot, off to Old Westbury Gardens & then to Fox Hollow for the ceremony& reception. We opted for the limos because some of my guests were from OOT & would not have cars BUT for our in town guests this proved to be a bit of a problem. Since we have limos they now have to find a way to either get their car to Fox Hollow or find a ride home.
A lot of people say limos are a huge plus but they seem to be turning into a huge negative for half my girls.

Wait a minute... you only have 12 people to transport for such short distances? There's no way you should be paying $1300!!! FM me if you want more info... That's your first problem... you can DEFINITELY get the limo for less.
And no, you don't have to but because you have more than one stop, I think it might be nice and a little more convenient. But by all means, not necessary at all if it's an area where you can shave off a nice chunk of change.

I agree, you don't have to do anything BUT it might be easier than following each other around considering you're having a lot of people in your bridal party. It's your decision but IMO I would go for it.

Re: Do I HAVE to?
We're having our ceremony and reception at the Swan Club.
I'm having 1 limousine (12 passenger) for 'the girls' and my mother We'll all be at my mother's house - so it's just a 'pick up and drop off' to the Swan Club.
The guys will get their on their own.
I'm using Dynasty Limousines (a vendor on this site) for around $220.
