Do I HAVE to have?

Do I HAVE to have?

Ok so FH and I have been chatting and we don't really want a RD. Obviously I know we don't HAVE to do anything. But are any other couples out there definitely not having one? If you aren't when are you giving your BP their gifts?

We arent having one. Too many OOTers that wont be able to make it so we decided against it. Not sure when we will do BP gifts though.

I'm not having one. But my ceremony is at the church, and our BP is small- just our brothers and my sister. So I think we can just wing it.

Are you all getting ready together? you can take a moment that morning and give the gifts to the bm and you fh can give them to the gm that day also. You can make it more sentimental and intimate that way.

We are not. but we only have a MOH and BM so our wedding party isn't 'normal' sized. I don't feel that it is something that HAS to be done. Good Luck

We are not having one...we are doing our rehearsal about an hour before the ceremony. I plan on having a BM luncheon a week or two before the wedding to give the BM's their gifts.

Re: Do I HAVE to have?

We're having a very small rehearsal dinner, just his parents, my parents, our sisters and my brother-in-law. And it's not a big thing--we'll just go out to eat after our rehearsal. I'm giving my bridesmaids their gifts at my shower (yes, I know when it is). But if you're not sure about that, you could have lunch or dinner out with them, if they live in the area.

If you don't want it, don't have it.

FI parents are throwing ours....but there's nothing that says you HAVE to have one.

FI BF got maried last summer and didnt have a RH..instead we all go together for a small BBQ and a drink ( just BP) and they gave their gifts....but it wasnt a rehearsal dinner at all.....jsut everyone getting together before they got married

We're having a BBQ and a quick run thru of the ceremony the day before, but nothing formal.

Your day, your way! If you don't want one, don't have one

I'm still undecided myself. I want to have one, FH doesn't think it's necessary. I guess we'll see as the time gets closer.

We're not having one, but we need to do some type of get together to give the BP their gifts.

How about having them over your house, just the bridal party only and order a hero or something, no fuss, no muss!

Re: Do I HAVE to have?

We are not having one. We have no money for one and theres too many out of town guests and other family issues, that it is just easier without one. I took my BM for lunch and gave them there gifts then because one was a neclace for the day of, i didnt want them buying something ot find out i bought them one. FH is going to give it the day of, he bought wallets

Re: Do I HAVE to have?

Thanks for the advice everyone! I really appreciate it. Where would I be without you?! (Definitely LOST!)

We wound up getting a great deal on a place so the whole thing (incliding 30ish guests) should cost less then $1,000. So, it looks like we will be having one after all.
