Im not getting married ina achurcha and am having a quick 20 minute ceremony. Do I have to have programs? i dont even know what we would really put in them...

we are getting married at our RH and we are not going to have programs...I don't think they are necessary

we are getting married in our hall and we are having programs since we are having a jewish ceremony
it has a thank you page, 2 pages with the procession (parents, bridal party, etc) and then a few descriptions of parts of the ceremony that people might not be familiar with
i designed it myself in the same fonts as our (ordered) invitations

I dont think its necessary...although IMO it is nice to acknowlege the bridal party and thank everyone for coming.

no you dont have to. im choosing to have them because i think its a nice touch to acknowledge friends, family and my deceased family members. i also want my guests to follow along in the ceremony even though its only 30 minutes. its going to have all the readings in it.

I do not want programs, because i dont want to spend the money on them, and i dont want to make them.
No one looks at them, and the one wedding i went to last year out of 7 had programs and i didnt see anyone reading them, except for me lol

Gina, don't do anything YOU don't want to do. you dont need any of this stuff, if you don't want it, don't have it.
you're wedding will be FABULOUS with or without programs.

we didn't have them, we just didn't feel the need for them. we had a short ceremony at the RH, a small BP, and deceased family members were named when we lit the memorial candle. if i got married in a church i would have considered them, as that's the only time i ever really read the programs, and that's so i know where we're at in the ceremony.

most of the weddings I've been too that had it at the RH didn't do programs. its just a nice touch.

Actually, I am of the mindset that no one has to have anything when it comes to wedding planning. Just do what is right for you and the feelings of the day.

I don't think you NEED them. I would make sure that your BP gets recognized by introduction and a nice TY from you and FH. That should do the trick

I'm not doing it. I've seen people put them out on the dinner plates though if they want everyone to know who their attendants are.
