Do I HAVE TO INVITE A COUPLE BECAUSE WE WENT TO THEIR WEDDING?
I am wondering because we really do not like these people! A little history: We got the invitation to their wedding 2 weeks before it. They claimed to not have our address, even though they called me for it 7 weeks before the wedding! I really think we were 'D' list! But I feel like I should invite them as a courtesy.
What do you guys think?

Definitely not!
Even if you had been 'A' list, you still wouldn;t need to. You don't have to reciprocate every wedding invite you get. And you especially don't have to, since it defintiely seems like you were on thier 'D' list and you don't like them anyway!

i guess that would be proper but if they are not important to you then i don't see why are you having a big wedding??

I don't think you have to invite them by any means. Especially if you don't like them. Maybe you should just put them on your 'F' list.

Even though it's a big wedding, you still don't have to invite them. ANY etiquette book will tell you that you don't have to recirporcate invites as a courtesy. Only invite people you truly want to have with you on your big day

I don't think you need to invite them. Also, I go with this policy for the invitation list....I just want to see people there that I love and appreciate...anyone that stirs any other kind of feelings, it's not invited.

I guess I'm different from everyone else - I kind of think you should invite them. Obviously you don't have to but if they are people you're constantly running into, I'd invite them.

No!!! We are not inviting a couple whose wedding we went too-they are in FH's Fire Department and they just invited everyone from his station-we aren't close with them at all so I don't feel the need to invite

The hell w/ proper ! I'm so sick of proper !!! If you don't want them @ the wedding, and they're not some random long lost family member you're OBLIGATED to invtie- Leave them off the list and send an invtie to someone you really DO want there !!

I was one of the first of our friend group to get married and invited a lot of people that i know won't be around when we start a family, so i would not be bothered if they did not invite us to their wedding.
I had one friend couple at our wedding that we were not as close to at their wedding and were not invited.
It depends where you are in life....however if the weddings are within the year then i think you really need to....you can say no and they can too...
I had a friend from HS and College that got married in May and we were invited to their wedding, i went back and forth whether i would invite them and put it whether they invited us and they did and they came to ours......
Ever situation is different. But if it is within the same year and they are coming to yours then invite them.

No, you don't have to. For example, my old boss invited me to her wedding and DH and I went when he was only my FH. I quit that job and don't even speak with her any more and I wouldn't even think about asking her. It would actually look weird.

We all know that you don't have to ask someone to be in your bridal party simply b/c you were in theirs. I say the same rule applies to invitations. Besides, 2 weeks before sounds more like the Z list! lol
