I will be working in a new school district in September. The nature of my position has necessitated that I have lots of meetings and lunches with the superintendent and my principal already this summer. We've gotten to know each other personally and I know that we are all going to be working very closely together for the rest of the year. I'd really like to put them on my invite list, but I don't know if that is weird considering we just began working together in early June and they are my 'superiors'. My RSVP date is September 6th.
What would you do?

Re: Do I invite....
I also work in a school district and I think that since you just met them and you have not worked a full year in the district you should not invite them. Perhaps you could tell them the date and location of your ceremony (if you are getting married in a church) and invite them to come to that if they feel comfortable. But in the end, you are the only one who knows for sure!

Re: Do I invite....
hi jen! :) (you owe me an FM! hahaha!)
I would say no.... although you're getting to know them now, the school year hasn't started yet... you could let them know about the ceremony, but I don't think you need to invite them. i am not inviting anyone from work and i hang out with some of them outside of school..... :( but that is more because my family is so darn big that I really can't, although i would have liked to.... and i didn't want to invite some and not all....

I am a teacher and ABSOLUTELY not. You don't want them to feel obligated to give you a gift, and you don't want to be 'watching' your behavior and the behavior of your guests.

It is a tough situation, but I would say that you do not have to invite them. Considering that you just met them within the year and do not know them for long, they will probably not even be expecting it.

IMO- no. I have a similar dilemma but I opted no. It's a little presumptuous in my honest opinion. I would just at some point in time, casually mention that you are keeping or kept your wedding small and intimate or something like that. That's my good excuse with only 106 invited.
