I'm planning on using a birdcage for our cards but last night I started thinking and getting nervous about if this will be secure enough, especially at a hall with multiple weddings...it would be so easy for a crasher to be wandering around...
I love the look of the birdcage....am I just being paranoid or do you think I should do a cardbox instead? If I'm going to make one I'd like to add it to my DIY list asap. What do you girls think?

Re: Do I need a cardbox?
My sister used a birdcage and had no problems. I'm also using a birdcage because I love the way it looks! Just place it close to your table if youre nervous.

If you do the birdcage and you wrap the inside of it so no one can easily stick their hands in and take something out?
You could also glue the birdcage shut and then just break the cr@p outta it when it's time to take the cards out.
You are SUPER crafty - i am sure you could do some super pretty drapping on the inside of it.

I'm doing a birdcage too! I saw online someone put a lock on it and covered the lock with a little sign that said thanks, I was thinking to do that..
This web site also has really nice ones and they're not that expensive

Thanks! I already have a save-on-crafts birdcage Maybe lining most of the inside will make me feel better. Guess I'll have to give it a little more thought...

I think you should be safe. Just make sure that birdcage is near your table so you can keep an eye on it (that actually holds true for any cardbox you use).

Re: Do I need a cardbox?
Mine is a bird cage kind of one but is shaped liek a Cinderella coach...the slots are actually pretty small in this style so I don't think I'll have a problem....plus my venue is one at time and the placement of the table this will be on is not in a high traffic location right next to one of our parent tables. I'll prob get a lock anyway but I'm confident it'll be secure.
