Do I need a DOC?

Do I need a DOC?

Hi Ladies!

I'm considering hiring a DOC but not really sure if I need one. I like the idea of knowing there is someone who can handle any blips or issues that day but not sure if I really need one. What do you think? Here is my day...I'm not having a traditional wedding...

location: Girogio's in Baiting Hollow
ceremony and brunch reception will be there too. I will also have an attendant who will be with me for the day.

formal photos will happen before the 11:30 ceremony, candid shots during the brunch, beach photos from about 4-5

we're having a guitarist for the ceremony and just a piano player for the brunch, no band and no dancing (folks are of course free to dance but most of our guest are a bit elderly and can't really dance anyway)

I live in AZ but mom and sister are on the Island and are able to visit vendors, etc. I will be out in July for my first fitting, see sample flowers, and visit the baker. Then I'll be in NY a week before my wedding to take care of last minute details.

Do I need a DOC? I'm really on the fence and would LOVE to hear your thoughts, advice, and opinions!

Thanks ladies!!!
Laura

I had one and it was the best money I spent on the wedding! It might be really helpful since you live in AZ too. FM me if you want her info and I will be happy to give it to you

I plan on getting one, just because I don't want myself or anyone in my family or FH's family going crazy making sure everything goes alright. FH wasn't crazy about me hiring someone just to make sure it all goes okay while we plan everything, but I explained it to him and he got it.
