I'm having a station style buffet. Meaning I have different tables in sections with different foods, like a salad station, a meat station, etc... Do I need to waste time and money with menus, or do you think I don't need them?

don't do a menu - waste of time, in my opinion

I wouldn't, my stepsister didn't. There are people serving the food, so the staff is responsible for letting the guest know.

I like the idea of having a menu on the table. That way your guests can review it before getting up and being served. So they already know what's there, it'll prob move the line along faster and everyone will get what they want instead of 'missing' something that they didn't see.

I don't think you need one at all!!!! I am only having one because the hall is providing...people are going to be up and looking for themselves..I really don't think it is necessary...
good luck!!!

There isn't going to be a line, because its all in stations. People can bounce to what they want.

I think you could totally do without menus. However I like the idea of a menu board that is big enough for everyone to see.

No--Take a look at my review. Here is what I wrote about menus. You never know if something you wanted is suddenly not available that day and you have to change your order. Here is what I wrote:
ANOTHER TIP: Consider not making menus. We decided not to because if our hall made any last minute changes, I did not want to deal with my guests asking me stuff about why the food served was different than what the menu said. And I knew that if my menu said “mashed potatoes” and my uncle got shredded potatoes, he’d actually stop and ask me what happened! As it turns out, my hall surprised us with extra food and extra choices that would not have been on a menu! And, the intermezzo was a little different than we planned. They gave a choice of bon bons and a few types of sherbet and all we had planned for was one type of sherbet. I’m glad I did not print up a menu that might have discouraged my hall from doing these amazing things!! I had read a post where a girl was upset that her hall made a last minute menu change and she had already paid a lot for menus

I'm thinking about making a wine and beer menu, because we are serving different kinds of wines and excotic beers and ales. Since we aren't using hard liquor we thought it would be cool to have a really interesting stock of what we do have. So I could put one menu on every table. That way people won't be confused. Thanks for your help! I really didn't want to print out like 100 menus just so they can be thrown away.
