Do I need E-pics?

Do I need E-pics?

Originally I wasn't going to do engagement photos, I didn't think we needed them since we didn't use stds. Then I thought I'd use them for table numbers and that they'd be nice to have for the albums. Our photographer cut us a great deal making it more enticing. Now I've decided to go a different route with table numbers and I don't know if it makes sense to do a whole shoot just to have a few more nice photos. Do you think we could use them on Christmas cards?

Thoughts anyone?

You can use them for anything!!! I figured how many times will we have professional photos taken of ourselves. They'll be nice to have.

I felt at 1st it was a waste of money, but when I started to meet with photographers, they all said it is a great way to meet and interact with your day of photographer.

Also if you have a great deal, why not

Take e-pics. Even if you only buy 1 and frame it for your parents. Take them. It's your 'practice' with your photographer. W/o getting into too many details, we had a bad experience with our e-pics (the first time around). The photographer brought his gf to the park, and she kept complaining how hot she was. So he rushed through and took crappy pics. Needless to say, a week later we had chosen a different photographer. You need to make sure you like your photographer, his/her personality, and style of picture taking.

I'm not doing it, but if you have a great deal, why NOT do it to interact with your photographer, maybe try to get your hair and/or makeup trial done for the same day and kill a few birds with one stone.

I think I would be more inclined to use a picture from the wedding for my Christmas card.

We would never have done it if it wasn't included. Our photographer insisted because he wanted to get comfortable with us in person (and wanted us comfortable with him).

As you know, I was a bit miffed by the results of ours, although FH loves them. My dad totally saw what I saw, though, and asked why our photog made me look like a 'chub-o' (his word, not mine) when I'm not nearly that chubby anymore...

As a side note, I emailed the guy and told him my concern and he said not to worry about it at all, and that I'll be happy with the final product. Not sure what that means, but I'm glad they'll be a 2nd photographer there. Maybe he can shoot from a better angle!!! lol

I thought it was good practice for the wedding day as far as posing and things like that, but if its not included in your photography package i dont think its necessary.

I think if your getting a 'great' deal then why not go for it. Even if you don't use them for anything (i.e. table numbers, christmas cards) it would be nice for you to have professional pics of yourself and FH to look back on.

Def. I'm not doing STD's either. The only reason though I'm doing them is bc my photographer is including them in our package otherwise I wouldn't have gotten them. Using them for Xmas cards is a really cute idea.

I wouldn't be doing professional e-pics if it wasn't included in our package. I personally don't think you need them unless you want a chance to get to know your photographer before. We are donig them for our save the dates!

ITA and also as other girls mentioned its good practice for the actual day to get to know the photographers better and get a feel of how they shoot before the big day.
