Fh and I are on a budget but we are sticking too it by keeping our wedding small, on friday, and having a DJ instead of a band. Other then that their are few corners we want to cut. I could care less about Limos though. We are getting married at the hall. Why can't we just go there in our own cars? Then we will leave our wedding and go to a hotel in one of our cars that we will drop off the night before.

Re: Do I NEED limos?
You do not need limos. But, we are getting married at the RH hall and just got one for 3 hours since I didn't want to be all crammed with my dress. A 3 hour basic limo was $350.

you dont need limos, FH's parents got me a limo as a gift, but I was going to have one of my BMs drive me over to the hall.

Sure you could do one......or none at all if you like. It's your day & your choice.

Re: Do I NEED limos?
We got married at the hall ... and I don't think we would have done limos if we didn't go to Old Westbury Gardens to take pics before the ceremony.
Since we were doing limos, we also got town cars to bring our parents from the hotel to the RH.
And then we had 1 limo come to pick us & our parents up after the wedding ... since we were all staying at the hotel.
It was nice to not have to worry about driving.

You definitely don't need limos! If I'd gotten married at the RH I wouldn't have had one.

I didnt use limos. We got married at the RH too. The hotel had a shuttle back and forth so it wasnt a problem. I rode to the RH in my stepfathers KIA. Didnt need to make a grand entrance

Some people though I was crazy but im really glad too see others agree with me that I don't need them. It's also nice to see that if I want one for just 3 hours its alot less $$ then I thought.

Re: Do I NEED limos?
I'm getting married at the church and then heading to the reception hall afterwards, but I'm still not sure if I'm doing the limo or not. Me and FH are also on a very tight budget, so I'm considering renting a really hott car for the day instead. It's cheaper, esp since you get it a lot longer than 3 hours.
The only problem is that it's apparently the limos which provide the white aisle runners. So I may not have much of a choice, unless I buy my own.

Re: Do I NEED limos?
i dont see the need...if everything is at the RH then change into your dress there and drive over or carpool to save the cash...put it towards your honeymoon!

Re: Do I NEED limos?
If you are getting married at your RH than you don't really need limos. You could always call a car service to take you from your reception to your hotel at the end of the night.
I tried to cut corners as much as possible. Really researched my vendors and made sure that I was receiving the best possible prices for everything. We are not having a videographer, favors, ceremony programs, slippers/slipper basket, personalized menu cards/seating cards/table numbers, extras at the cocktail hour or reception, bathroom baskets, etc.
Keep in mind DIY is not always the least expensive way to go. You can have the wedding you want on the budget you can afford - just know all of your options before making a decision.
Good Luck!

Re: Do I NEED limos?
nope, you don't need limos....we got married at the RH and took pics at OWG (which was 5 minutes away) and we all just traveled in our own cars.....not a biggie to me..
it would've been nice to have a picture with a nice car, but it was low on my priority list..
