For a bridal dress it depends on where you are going..but YES to most of the places I went to - Bridal Reflections, Bridal Couture, Lillette's.

That stinks I wanted to call out sick to work 2morrow to go look at dresses!

If you are going in the evening or on the weekends you should definitely call for an appointment.
When I first went looking, I happened to be off on a weekday and just walked into a couple of places with out an appointment and they were able to help me.
I would try calling now, they may have cancellations they could put you in.
