okay... so bear in mind when you reply that I am setting into panic mode reading that some of you ladies order dresses a year in advance! My wedding is the last weekend of June in '06. I haven't ordered yet. When do I need to? Like someone else who posted a similar question on the '06 board, I've been putting it off bc I want to lose some weight. I put on about 10 -15 pounds at the beginning of the year. I know I can get dresses altered down the road, but one dress i really think I want will not look good with extra lbs. Can I wait? Do I need to order soon?

It depends on the designer. Some dresses take at least 9 months to come in while others take 4 months. I ordered my dress around Thanksgiving (10 months before) and it came in around July 4th. I lost 10-15 lbs since ordering my dress. They took the sides in and it fits great now. I wouldn't let the fact that you want to lose weight stop you from looking and ordering your dress now.

I lost about 15 or 20 lbs since I ordered my dress- they can take in in- and make it fit even better then if it was your size

If you have an idea of what you want, try & find out how long that designer takes. Mine only took about 4 months, but I ordered it 6 months in advance, just to be sure.
You don't have to order right now, but you may want to order by the end of the year, to avoid panic in June if your dress isn't in.

I ordered mine 10 months in advance, and the saloon told me i was cutting it a little close.
My dress should be in in a few weeks.
Dont worry abuot losing weight, I have lost some and will continue to do so, they will just have to keep making it smaller!
