Do I notify guest that this is a wedding weekend w/ the std?

I'm thinking of including a wedding newsletter & Brochures of the 2 hotels we block rooms in w/ the std in package. I'm thinking of including the newsletter b/c it was the only way I could think of, to give our guest our wedding weekend itinary so they can have time to plan.

On June 6, 2008 we will have a rehersal dinner/ welcome dinner to kick off the wedding weekend.

June 7, 2008 we're going to have some type of activity during the day (havn't decided yet,)

then the wedding... reception...

then the after party at the hotel

June 8,2008 there will be a day after brunch

or should I just put our address to our wedding website on our invitations & put all the information there?

Hi Michele, I'm having the same issue.

I think I'm going to include a newsletter with the STD. The STD will be a cute magnet with our pic and minimal wording, but because most of our guests will be coming for at least one night, mostly two nights, they'll need to know a lot of info.

It's thoughtful for you to include the info in a mailer rather than directing them to a website. It seems like you're putting more of an effort into it and trying to make them feel special.

Thanks Dava I think I'll do the newsletter , I fell in love w/ this std I think I am going to go with invitations that are the same pattern, pic, below. I'm not sure where I'm having my RD yet, since we are going to have it as a welcome party & children will be invited , but brunch will be at the Mansion we're staying at.

I would definetly give them the heads up that it is a wedding weekend, not a one day wedding.

In the STD packet, we mentioned

Friday - Welcome Dinner
Saturday - Afternoon Hospitality Suite
Ceremony & Reception
Sunday - Farewell Brunch

what did you include in your adternoon hospitality ? We were going to do somthing like a lunch, but I want to keep the spending down.

Welcome Party Friday night
Wedding Sat
Farwell Brunch Sunday

Are these enough activities for it to be considered a wedding weekend?

I think for our hospitality we'll just have snacks, drinks, etc .... we don't plan on serving lunch. (gotta draw the line somewhere!!!)

Since we are inviting a large % of our guest list to Friday & Sunday, it seemed like a weekend thing to me.
