Do I really care if people steal favors?- NO

Hi.

My aunts are trying to talk me out of putting my favors on the table.

I am doing mini champagne bottles and they are one per person. They think it is not a good idea because people might take someone else's.

I really think it is much easier to have them on the table. I think it will be an even bigger production to assign someone to give them out.

They are so paranoid.

Thoughts???

I would just put them on the table as you intended...why are they so paranoid about this? It would be much more work to have someone give them out!

Leave them on the tables! I would trust your friends and family to take only theirs. This is your wedding, not a public event!

I would just leave them on the tables. I think most people would understand it's one per person or per couple. And if they don't, I'm sure they'll realize it after seeing how other people are handling the favors.

I had an idea to use the bottles as seating cards... You can make your own labels to either stick on the bottle or used as hang tags. That way, if you pick up a bottle, you'll find your seat! And chances are someone wouldn't pick up another person's bottle if their table is printed on it.

Just a thought! Otherwise, I second what everyone else is saying... just leave 'em.

I also would put them on the tables. No matter where they are...people will find them and people will steal them. This really drives me nuts but you can't control it and you certainly shouldn't be worrying about it on your most special day.

YOU WANNA LAUGH?

My sister gave scratch off lottery tickets...one per seat at the tables. At the end of the night my Grandmother had mentioned that she won 30 something dollars. TURNS OUT...she was stealing them...MY OWN GRANDMOTHER...could you imagine???

Really...it's not worth getting upset about.

Liz, put one cd at every other place setting, people are decent enough to not take more than one, what purpose would it serve them. I think its fine to put them on the tables.

I actually went to a wedding this weekend, where folks were stealing the favors - as well as picking apart the floral centerpieces AND packing up their desserts from the Vianesse bar. I couldn't believe it. But think they were the (tacky) exceptions to the rule.

We're giving out CDs & the Maitre D offered to give them out so that works for us, but we're also giving out bookmarks that will be at each place setting. Will have a few extra of each on hand in case someone doesn't get one for whatever reason

I have actually left favors...by accident...and there were leftovers at my wedding...so DH's aunt went around collecting all the leftovers...so it wasn't really stealing...b/c people left them!!

I don't think you shoul;d worry...

ah- don't worry about it, what can you do if people do take more than one?

kelly- so funny! My FH Aunt did something at a 50th surprise party we threw for my FMIL 2 years ago... at the end, she pulled up her car and started taking all the centerpieces- loading up the car!!! IMAGINE!!!!! SOME people are crazy!- you just have to laugh!
