I didnt know that mine came with them and already had the outer printed? will it look funny if they are blank? i am running out of time to reprint them.

Re: do inner envelopes need names?
I don't think you have to write anything on them. Sometimes people will address the front to Mr. John Smith and then on the inner write Mr. John Smith & Guest or & family. But you don't have to, no one will notice.

Re: do inner envelopes need names?
I'm glad you asked this question because I was thinking about this, too.
Most of my relatives don't understand the difference of names printed on the outer vs the inner envelope...if they don't see everyone's name on the outer envelope, they won't know to look on the inner to see who's invited. So, I'm thinking of writing all the names on the outer and leaving the inner blank

I think thats perfectly fine, i was going to say to the OP that if she already addressed the outer with '&Guest' then you don't have to do it again on the inner.

Re: do inner envelopes need names?
thanks for all the replies! I am not going to do them. most of mine are to couples anyway and just a few 'and family' so it shouldnt be a big deal. i know i never notice it myself.

Re: do inner envelopes need names?
I went by the etiquette that came with my invites for the wording. It said to address the inner envelopes without the first name or 'with guest' and only put the one person on the outside envelope and leave off with guest. Also, inside is where you should add any children's name that are invited-just their first name.

Re: do inner envelopes need names?
Definitely write on the inner envelope. It's your chance to make it clear who is invited.

Re: do inner envelopes need names?
Before I read this post I didn't even think of it. My addresses were sent this past Friday and now looking back I don't think it is necessary. We were clear who was invited from each family (parents minus kids, etc.) on the envelope. I just hope they read it too.
