Do It Yourself Invitations - any suggestions??

Is anyone printing their own invites? I plan to and I found some great ones at Target and Michaels (between $80 - $120 for 90-100 invites)...really beautiful looking.

Are there other places that I should check before getting mine? I found some online that were nice, but the really nice ones were still very expensive - which is why I am going DIY.

Any inexpensive ones that are creative and classy and not boring?

I am going to check out AC Moore, Staples...any other suggestions?

If you look in my DIY album, I made my invites for our engagement party.. I added my own details, such as ribbons and such. I got them from Michael's on sale 50 invites for $10. They are martha stewart brand & I love them.

but I will be honest, priniting them was a challange because they werent coming out straight. I went through 3 boxes of 50 just to make 57 invites! lol

The Brides Brand invitations at Michael's are really nice. Look in my DIY album for the one we're considering. I plan to take them to Kinko's to print them so I don't stress as much and use so much ink. It'll be a lot faster and cheaper I think. Another bride was only charged for the copies... less than $11.

I used the Brides ones from Michael's and they came out great. They were the ones that are an envelope and invite all in one and I got lots of compliments on them. Some of the other ones were really pretty but when I opened the box and looked at the envelopes they were too flimsy. You could see the invite right throught the envelope. Be sure to look at each piece before you buy a set.

Do you know how it works at Kinko's..do I make the template of what I want on each card and bring it to them on a flash drive or do they have options there

TIA

I saved the template off of the website onto a thumb drive formatted and laid out the way we wanted it. On advice from another 2010 Bride to Be, I am bringing the thumb drive to Kinko's like that . It'll be ready to print, nice and easy. I mentioned this to a co-worker and she does this often for special presentations.
