Do it yourself save the dates

If anyone made these on their own, can you post pics and tell me how you did them...

Thanks,
Jen

Using photoshop, we created our STD's from a couple of black and whites we took. You can take a peek at the rough draft in my bio. We will be printing them out on magnet paper.

I went to vistaprints.com and ordered their free business cards, but instead of business info, I put in our Save the Date info. Then I attached them to magnets. Voila! Practically free STDs These are some examples of styles they have. I didn't care too much what mine looked like to be honest. I chose the one with the rose, and everyone loved them. I just didn't think STDs were worth spending a lot of money on.

I went to Vistaprints too! They have about 6000 different templates of stuff. I entered our save the date information on their business card magnets. Im so excited to get them in!!

OMG---the red flower on the bottom on the above post was one of my favorites!!

Re: Do it yourself save the dates

I wanted to do a two page STD so I went to Michaels and got a blank wedding invitation package $19.99 for 100 and then I made the first page the date and 'Our day is fast approaching and we can hardly wait we would like you to be with us, so please save the date.' On the second page it was a letter from my FI and I in about hotel information, our wedding web page, it personalized it a little more. The finishing touch was to hole punch at the top and lace ribbon through and i made a bow. I am not very good at scanning, but if you are interested in seeing it FI me and i will try to do it.

Hope this helps!!

I ordered a sample, then I copied them. I got the paper at Quick Pick on 110, the ribbon in NYC, and the special hole puncher at Michael's. I printed them on my printer and then tied the knots.

STD

I used the one called 'tying the knot' and I did it in navy print with white and navy ribbon.

We used Vistaprint too but made postcards. We uploaded a photo to use for the front and then included the information and other text on the back.
